Week of March 7th

Language Arts:  This week we will continue reading stories that focus on how we understand nature.  The reading selections for this week are Why the Sun and Moon Live in the Sky and How the Beetle Got Her Colors.  Both reading selections are Folktale text and this week and will be working on visualization and understanding theme.

Math: We will be starting Topic 13 Shapes and their Attributes this week. Students will be learning about 2-Dimensional Shapes, Polygons and angles, and how to draw 2-Dimensional Shapes. Due to the Terra Nova testing, we will not be completing a new lesson every day in math.

Social Studies:  We will finishing our travel around the world this week.

Science:  We will be starting our unit on Force and Motion. Students will take part in fun activities throughout this unit.This week we will be learning the vocabulary that goes with force and motion and start exploring different ways to make objects move.
