January 17th

Language Arts:  This week we will be reading stories that focus on how we express ourselves. The reading selections for this week are They've Got the Beat! and Many Ways to Enjoy Music.  Both reading selections are informational text and this week and will continue working on asking and answering questions and identifying the main idea and key details.

Math:  We be finishing up Topic 8 Working with Time and Money, this week. Please look for the Topic 8 Assessment Review to come home on Tuesday, January 18th. I will be giving the assessment on Friday, January 21st. We will start Topic 9 Numbers to 1,000 next week. 

Social Studies:  We will starting Unit 2, The World Around Us, later this week.  Students will be learning about the continents and oceans as well as the different types of landforms and cardinal directions.  We will be working on map skills and even create our own edible map of the United States, during this unit!
